Luma Candy operates on a cascade matching system where three or more identical candies create luminous chain reactions. Each match generates glow energy that charges your power-up meter positioned at the screen top. The physics engine calculates drop trajectories in real-time, creating unpredictable board states after each successful combination.
The game introduces new candy types every 50 levels, starting with basic five-color matches and progressing to special glow candies with unique properties. Striped candies clear entire rows when matched, wrapped candies explode in 3x3 patterns, and the rare rainbow candy eliminates all candies of one color across the entire board. Combining special candies triggers amplified effects calculated by the combo multiplier system.
Level objectives vary between score targets, ingredient collection, jelly spreading, and timed challenges. The difficulty algorithm adjusts candy distribution based on remaining moves, creating strategic tension in the final turns. Obstacles like chocolate blocks, licorice locks, and candy bombs require specific matching patterns to overcome, forcing players to plan three to five moves ahead.
Progress through five distinct candy worlds with 100 levels each. Every world introduces new visual themes, candy types, and mechanical obstacles. Levels increase in complexity with multi-objective challenges requiring simultaneous score targets and ingredient collection within limited moves.
Unlock striped candies for line clears, wrapped candies for area explosions, color bombs for full-board elimination, jelly fish for targeted strikes, coconut wheels for row destruction, and the ultimate rainbow cascade that removes all candies of a chosen color in one devastating move.
Complete rotating daily objectives to earn bonus coins and exclusive power-ups. Challenges range from achieving specific score thresholds without using boosters, to completing levels with limited candy colors, to creating a set number of special candy combinations within time constraints.
Play all 500 levels without internet connection. Progress syncs automatically when reconnected. Offline mode disables leaderboards and social features but maintains full access to purchased power-ups, unlocked levels, and collected stars for uninterrupted puzzle solving.
Earn up to three stars per level based on final score thresholds. Stars unlock bonus stages every 20 levels and gate progression to new worlds. The three-star system encourages replay with optimized strategies to maximize combo multipliers and special candy creation rates.
Pre-level boosters include extra moves, starting special candies, and color reducers. In-game boosters activate during play for single-use hammer strikes, candy swaps, and board shuffles. Lives regenerate every 30 minutes with a maximum capacity of five hearts.
